Item Complaint Procedure

Should a patron of the Watkins Glen Public Library object to a particular item in its collection
he/she shall:

A.) Bring the item to the attention of one of the library’s employees, and
B.) Submit a written document identifying the objectionable item and the reason for their
objection.

Once the director becomes aware of the objection he/she will notify the board of trustees and
examine the item as soon as possible. If the objection is merited and the item is found to be
hurtful to the mission of the library or to the public which the library serves, the item will be
pulled from the collection.
