Book Binding Workshop

November 13 @ 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
The Single and Double Pamphlet are simple, yet elegant books which make great journals (and gifts!). Learn the about the craft of bookbinding including an overview of tools and materials and how to fold and sew books by hand. Participants will leave with 3 finished books. All materials will be provided. Free and open to all ages, under 10 with an adult due to sharp tools.
Classes will be taught by Adam Bryant and Laura Rowley, both teaching book artists from the Finger Lakes Region. Adam earned his MFA from the University of Iowa Center for the Book in 2021. At UICB, his areas of study were bookbinding, book history, letterpress printing and papermaking.
Since 2022, he has worked as a Senior Conservation Technician in the Cornell University Library Conservation Lab. Laura earned her MFA from the University of Alabama in 2014. She operates Illuminated Press which publishes small editions of handmade books, and she is the Director of the Lodi Whittier Library.
